About the center
Abu Abdullah Muhammad ibn Ismail al-Bukhari — one of the greatest scholars of Islam, compiler of Sahih al-Bukhari — the most authentic collection of hadith in the history of Islam. Born in Bukhara in 810 CE, he dedicated his life to preserving and transmitting the legacy of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. The Imam al-Bukhari Memorial Complex in Samarkand marks his burial place and serves as a spiritual center comprising a mosque, mausoleum, museum and hotel.
